BEC’s HSE management system is based on the Total Quality management (TAMI) principle emphasizing on continuous improvement and integrating HSE aspects in every business endeavor with a proactive approach to HSE MS.

The company has well established HSE policy, emphasizing “The personal responsibility
for the safety rests with the line management of the company and Safety is considered a prime factor of its business” – therefore HSE is everyone’s responsibility and is
corporate philosophy.

The objective of the BEC’s HSE MS is to help the line management to prevent major incidents resulting in injuries, environmental damages, and adverse health effects to the employees and others associated with the projects, Loss of assets and business interruption.

The Senior Management provides strong, visible HSE leadership & commitment and ensures that this commitment is translated into the necessary recourses to develop, operate and maintain the company’s HSE MS, HSE Plan and procedures to attain HSE policy objectives on continuous basis.

BEC has well established HSE department with more than 25 qualified, trained & experienced staff who are responsible to ensure compliance monitoring and review of
all aspects of HSE MS covering entire organizational activities.

With this integrated HSE Management system BEC has achieved considerable success in completing most of the projects with ZERO LTI by implementing most stringent international HSE standards.

 

BEC’s Mentionable HSE achievements in recent major projects
 
1.
BEC has successfully completed the QLNG Train III project at Sur with 8.2 million man-hours without LTI on site. The scope of works involved was complete mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works with peak manpower from BEC was 2200. The client was Qalhat LNG .co. (QLNG) and main EPC contractor was Chiyoda and Foster & Wheeler Co. LLC (CFW)
 
2.
BEC has completed five million man-hours and driven five million kilometer without LTI at PDO MAF estate maintenance contract. Average manpower for this contract is 275-300. The contract is being managed by BEC since march 1999 without LTI. The contract is once again awarded to BEC by PDO from Sept 2005 for a period of five years. The client is Petroleum Development Oman. (PDO)
 
3.
BEC has completed two year without LTI in PDO’s cleaning and maintenance of HV and LV equipment (live line washing) contract covering both north and south Oman. This contract is considered to be one of the high risk electrical contract.
 
4.
BEC has completed “Sahma – Zauliy 132 kV power supply”’ project for PDO without LTI. Average manpower at peak was 250

5.
BEC has successfully completed M&E project for Sohar Refinery at Sohar without LTI. Average manpower at peak was 400. The client was Sohar Refinery Co. LLC, main EPC contractor was IGC and main civil contractor was DOHI. LLC
